6 Perfectly Pink Presents
It’s no secret that women of all ages love the color pink – it has even been scientifically proven! Chances are you have a pink lover among your friends or family, and need to come up with new, fun gift ideas for Birthdays/Christmas/Valentine’s Day/Other Special Occasions. I’ve selected a few gifts I know I would love to receive.
Weleda Wild Rose Body Oil Swiss company Weleda grow most plant ingredients that go into their products biodynamically in their own gardens on a plateau in southern Germany. Biodynamic cultivation uses no pesticides or toxic substances whatsoever, so you don’t have to worry about your skin absorbing all those pesky chemicals that are found in many mainstream oils and lotions. Their wild rose body oil comes in a dark blue glass bottle with a bright pink label and the main ingredients are jojoba, sweet almond, and organic musk rose oil. If the thought of putting oil on your skin grosses you out, don’t worry – it does get absorbed very quickly, and leaves your skin incredibly soft and sweet smelling (not overpoweringly “rosey”). $25.
Wine Opener The hot pink “Chic Lady” wine opener from L’Atelier du Vin deserves a place in any wine-drinking pink lover’s kitchen. At $44, it’s affordable enough that I personally would add a bottle of wine to go with it. Chateau De Segries Tavel Ros perhaps, in keeping with the pink theme. $44 for the opener and $17 for the wine.
Espresso/Cappuccino Maker Who doesn’t love a cup of strong espresso or creamy cappuccino? Bialetti’s adorable Pink Mukka Express ($89.95) and Dama Pink ($42.95) will make just that, right on your own stovetop. Both are super cute with black bases and pink tops, and since a portion of the price goes to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, you can feel extra good about buying one.
The Cutest Camcorder On Earth The Flip MinoHD from Pure Digital Technologies is not only a great little camcorder (3.94″x1.97″x0.63″); it is cute as can be as well. What makes it so cute? You get to design it! Choose a style from their gallery (there are tons!), use their “pattern maker” to create a totally unique pattern, or upload your own design or photo. But it’s not all looks: it has a 2x digital zoom, an f/2.4 lens, a 1.5″ screen, 4GB of internal memory, a built-in flip-out USB arm, and a tripod mount, and it only weighs 3.3 oz. The price? $229.
Samsung TL9 Digital Camera The metallic bubblegum pink Samsung TL9 is not only a great little camera; it’s also a jack-of-all-trades. Packed into its stylish body are also MP3 and multimedia players, a text viewer, camcorder, and voice recorder. The camera part features 10.2 megapixles, a 5x optical zoom, a (35mm equivalent) focal length of 38 ~ 190mm, dual image stabilization, face, smile and blink detection, and a beauty shot mode which automatically retouches facial skin. Dashboard-style dials tell you how much battery life and memory you have left. It’s tiny too: 3.7×2.3×0.8″ and 4.9 oz. $229-$253.
Cell Phone Ever heard of Vertu? This surprisingly little-known UK-based Nokia subsidiary make all their cell phones by hand and use materials such as ruby bearings, gold, platinum and liquidmetal (which is twice as hard a stainless steel). $6,300 and up.
Their Constellation collection includes the Core Range in polished stainless steel and bright pink leather, the Precious Range in black leather and 18 carat rose gold, and the Monogram Range’s “Cerise”, in stainless steel and a pink leather patterned back. All measure 4.3×1.7×0.6″, weigh around 5 oz, have Bluetooth email and speakers, and work in over 180 countries.
The exquisite Signature Diamonds collection includes the ultra luxurious Rose Gold Pink Sapphires and Rose Gold Pink Diamonds phones (both encased in gold, and the face of the phone is framed with a garland of pink flowers, in sapphires, rubies and diamonds). These two phones measure 4.8×1.6×0.6, weigh 7.1 oz., have 3-9 hours talk time, 300 hours standby time, coverage in 175 countries, a loudspeaker, voice recorder, multimedia messaging, and more.
The most exclusive feature on these phones, however, is probably the “concierge button”. By pressing this little button (on the side of the phone), you reach a personal assistant, who can help you (24 hours a day) with everything from finding a perfect restaurant for a romantic dinner to arranging for a private jet so you don’t miss that important business meeting.
